VRYA 2013 State High School Championships Announced

Date set for Vermont State High School Rugby Championships

Essex faces South Burlington in boys’ title game. Rutland girls wait outcome of final week’s play to find out championship opponent.

 

ESSEX  — The Vermont Youth Rugby Association 2013 high school state championship games will be played June 2 at the Tree Farm Recreational Facility in Essex. Girls kick off at 1 p.m. and boys at 3 p.m.

In a repeat of the 2012 boys title game, Essex will face-off against South Burlington. The South Burlington boys team, based at South Burlington High School, also includes players from Champlain Valley Union and Burlington high schools.

The final week’s play will determine which team – Essex or South Burlington — will play Rutland in the girls’ championship match.

The Vermont Youth Rugby Association is the governing body for youth rugby in Vermont.
